Torched Laughter Studio Diary: Day 7 - Intersection

After 3 hours sleep, I got up to do it all over again. More mandolin and guitar was completed before the afternoon. Then I decided to do some acoustic guitar work for `THE MYSTERIOUS METAL PROJECT.’ I wrote several posts ago that I was planning to work on both at the same time, and that there would be a point where both will have to converge due to renting gear. Today was that day. The acoustic fit well in these fairly heavy songs.

The afternoon was blah. Eating rice and taking a small nap. Hardly the excess that some like to do in the studio to capture those `moments.’ Well, fuck them. Taking a speedball and fucking an ostrich is not going to make my playing any better or more compelling. A hyperbaric chamber however…

The goal of the evening was to pack in early so I can get back to a regular sleep cycle. Goal completed.

All acoustic guitars and mandolin have been completed for `Torched Laughter.’ Goal completed. Somewhat.

There are 2 little unfinished ideas that need fleshing out.

I may take the day off tomorrow and resume with violins and lap steel Friday.
